win95b shows a third-non existing cd-rom

By europanorama ·
my win95b-harddiskdrive(internet) shows a third(beside cd and burner) cd-romdrive in ms-compatibility-mode. i had this mode already for the whole windows on a second hdd but not for cd-rom. it is told that this could slow-down the system. its very slow indead.its impossible maneuvering. i did not use this hdd for some months and it was well configurated and(compaired to winme) quite smooth.m i do not know what happened. how can i solve this problem. i doupt that i have a nero-image-program installed. for cd-rw. at that occasion more additional drives were listed which was wrong.

It may be due to the upgrade problem?
Well, the easiest way to remove it.
In your config.sys, edit the maximum number of drive.

For example,
last drive =g;
change to last drive =f;
then it will cure the program.

Plus, for the best result, check "my computer"-->properties; see the name of the drive.
It should be f /g before you make the change.
make it f=f

After the first change this option may be gone.
