WIN98 Freeze

Why does my PC freeze when I try to do a shutdown. It will freeze at "WINDOWS 98 SHUTTING DOWN" .

Most Win98 shut down problem could be associated with drivers , either sound , video or some other components you have added , check which new driver you've added,, remove it and see if windows shut down better then you'll know you got the problem cornered , also , assigning wav files to events on your Windows programs might have some effects if the wav files are a little too big .

There is a shutdown patch, if this is SE. The file is available from Microsoft and the file name is: 239887up.exe. It's worked for me many times.

well it seems as though this problem is a common one.There are patch's you can download from microsofts web site to correct the problem.
