Window 2000 doesn't recognize modem

By deliaxie ·
Currently I have changed my PC operating system from Window M to Window 2000, which caused couple problems in my PC. First is the modem doesn't work any more, then is the CD writer doesn't play music anymore. I have downloaded the upgrade driver formodem, but couldn't find out how to upgrade it. My modem is conexant softk 56 pci, how can I solve this problem?

rt click my computer then manage go to devices remove the modem, then hit refresh, win2k will find it and you can point it to the new drivers. did you install win2k over the old OS or do a new install? if you installed over the old good luck!

Thank you anyway, actually your answer didn't help at all, windon 2000 just not good in recognized conexant modem drivers, a friend of mine finally found the upgraded driver from internet and solved the problem.
