    Windows 2000 uninstall

As Win 2000 does not include an uninstall feature and requires its own partition NTFS when it is loading how do you uninstall win2000, and revert to win 98 and FAT32 without fdisk, format and loss of data, if it is loaded as the 2nd system on a dualboot system with win 98?

It is not possible to remove the NTFS partition without losing (at minimum) the information on the NTFS partition.
Depending on how your Hard Drive is partitioned it may be possible to remove the NTFS partition without removing the other partitions. This will only work if the NTFS partition is a logical drive on an extended partition. BUT you will still lose any information on the NTFS partition.
If NTFS is the PRI-DOS partition there is no way to keep from losing all data on the HDD. Because you will have to remove all partitions and recreate them.
Check fdisk for and select option 4 off the menu. This will list all the information you need to tell which situation applies to you.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

Try this. You will need a product like Partition Magic. First, create a Windows 98 Boot diskette. Boot into Win 2000 and install Partition Magic, and convert your partition back to FAT or FAT32 (probably FAT32 is more preferable for Windows 98).Once you have converted your partition, boot to your Windows 98 boot diskette. From the A:, do a SYS C: command (where C is your primary boot partition). This will recreate the WIN98 boot loader. Remove your floppy, reboot, and good luck. P.S. Make sure you backup all of your data before doing this.

Win 2000 does not default to ntfs, but instead you select it. It runs smooth on fat32. There is no logical way to uninstall it without killing the boot record and modifying the winnt folder.

Win2k does not like Partition Magic. I recommend not installing this on the OS.

If everything is still Fat32 you can just
fdisk /mbr and then sys c: but if you need to convert the partition to fat 32 the easiest way would be to find another temporary hard drive, do a sector by sector transfer, then wipe the original drive andreinstall 98 on it, then set the temp drive as the master drive, boot into 2000 and copy your info onto the 98 drive, then poweroff, pull out the temp drive and boot to your 98 drive. At least that’s what I would do.
