Two Windows 98 computers, one server and one client. Application runs fine on server. On client, drive maps works fine, create a shortcut to the application from the client to the server works fine, but cannot run the application from the client. The hour glass appears for a few seconds then stops, then nothing. Some ideas please!!!!

It sounds like the application was installed on the server computer, but not on the client computer. When you install an application, it copies the application programs onto the target computer's hard drive, but also updates that computer's registry with numerous registry keys. When you try to execute the application on the client PC, that PC does not have any of the associated registry keys in its registry, therefore the application cannot execute properly.
The answer would be to install the application on the client PC also (assuming you own the appropriate software licences to do so) and, if desired, set the data folder for the application to the corresponding data folder on the server PC, so that both PCs access the same data folderand share the same data.
