Windows 98 lab printing

By jmoody76 ·
We have a Windows 98 lab set up that is not connected to the rest of the network. We want to set up a printer on one of the computers and share it so the other computers in the lab can print to it. That we can do but we also want to password protect it or set up groups so that only certian people will be able to print to it. The computers are set up in a workgroup and have no problems connecting to each other. Any ideas? Thanks.

When you set up the share for the printer, you have an option of putting a password on the share. That way, only people who know the password will be able to print to it.

NOTE: The user on the workstation where the printer is physically connectedwill not need a password.

Good luck!
