Windows Explorer and ZoneAlarm

By dumarest ·
System - NT4SP6a. Recent upgrade of ZoneAlarmPro to 3.6. And now, at shutdown, a program fault, attempt to execute a 00000000 instruction, in Windows Explorer. If ZoneAlarm is closed before exit, no error. Now, this is not critical, just continue closing, but. Everything reinstalled including SP, no help. Now last try, reinstall Esplorer. Can I do that without a full new WIN-NT?

Windows Explorer and ZoneAlarm

sorry, I don't have an answer for you and I bet ZoneAlarm doesn't either. ZoneAlarm sucks majorly. is it running as a service? if not, what is protecting the computer when it is logged off? I would never put it on a NT server or any server. I use tiny firewall. if uninstalling it fixes your problem, count yourself lucky and get another firewall, imho. does the event viewer have anything to say about these crashes? good luck and sorry i can't offer more help...

There is extensive talk about this on the ZA Site. The coinclusions is to go back to version 2.6. Uninstall and the install Version 2.6 and you will be happy again.
