Windows Explorer Errors Windows 2000 Pro/Adv
Hello , I'm having a problem finding an amswer to my problem. I'm running and evaluation version of win2k pro and advanced server. Everytime I use windows explorer in win2k pro, I sometimes get the error "Explorer.exe has generated and error and will be shut down", in win2k Adv. server it just shuts down. I been trying to find out why this is happening for over 2 months. No one seems to know the answer. MS wants a FEE for them to solve this problemfor me, which is pretty steep. Pls Help. If more info is needed pls contact me anytime. thx :)

Does it say what the error is?
It may have something to do with corrupt cab files
Check Administrative Tools->Event Viewer and see if their are any errors logged
Also you may be able to find something on this in the Microsoft Knowledgebase

Thank you for replying. I tried a couple of things. First, removing SP2 from both computers and second removing IE6. Things seem to be working now ,so now, I will start updating my software one item at a time and see where the problem is.

I bet MS charges more than 80 tech points for a problem that has bothered you for 2 months. I know it can occur in upgraded 2K with Norton Cleansweep. Event Viewer should tell you more. MS would tell you to reinstall.
