WIndows IM to not notify when online?

By courtney ·
I have Exchange 2000 with Instant Messenger installedand working on each PC. When ever someone logs on it notify's everyone in the company that they have just logged on. Is there away to set it so that it does not notify everyone for 1 user or for the whole company?

If this is the Windows Messenger that I am thinking of then anyone that does not want to see this pop-up can do the following:

***
Tools>Options>Preferences>"Un-check --> Display Alert When User come Online".
***

Hope it helps,
Jim

I do not think so on the Server side but I could be wrong.

If you have access to make updates to all the compnay computers you should be able to remotley tweak the registery entry for this option on all computers.

You also may just want to create a registery change file and send it out company wide via email.

Good Luck!
Jim
