Can you have more than 2 comm ports on Win NT 4.0 with service pack 5 loaded?

Sure you can. You can add a serial card to your computer to provide connections to the real world. You can use the standard com 1,2,3,4, and in NT you can add as many as you want. The problem isn't going to be the number of com ports you have it is going to be the allocation of IRQs for these ports. Like in most computers today there is a premimum on interupts. It might be better to change to 2000 OS and look into USB expansion? Good Luck with the interupts!!!

If you want more than 2 com ports, watch out with the IRQ's, try IRQ 5 and 9 for COM 3 an d 4, or maybe if you want more than 4 com ports you can try a digiboard, then you have a extra 4, 8, 16 com ports in the computer.
