Windows NT Explorer

By beenie77 ·
When I open WinNT Explorer it defaults to c:\winnt\profiles\userX\Start Menu.

This is of course, terribly annoying. How do I change it to default to something more appropriate, like just c:\?

go to technet and look up article Q130510. That should give you a start. You can also do a search in technet if that isn't enough. Good Luck!

Sounds like your using the "Explore" option by right mouse clicking on the Start button. This function takes you into the current users profile directory.

If you want to explore the contents of your system or network drives, one way is to right mouse click on "My Computer," choose "Explore." This will open up a view of your local drive letters and attached network drives.
