Windows XP hangs on shut down

By jan.czarnecki ·
I tried restoring to a previous time on my Windows XP Home Edition and it crapped out. Now I can't restore to any previous time and now my system hangs on shut down.
Is there a fix or do I need to re-install Windows?

Thanks for your help.

you can try the User Profile Hive Cleanup utility.

Also, does it do it from 1 user, or does it do it for everyone?

To be honest, I trouble shooot my home computer to figure out what to do at work. But, I will reimage my HD if it looks like it will take more than an hour to fix. IF you have nothing on you HD you mind loosing, OR if you have it all backed up, I say go for the reinstall. Deleting partitons and reformatting usually fixes all problems.

Nothing seems to work. So... I'm going to delete the partition and start fresh.
Thanks for your help.
