Windows XP to Windows XP tablet edition

By dilshandiss ·
Hi,
As absurd as this question, I want to ask it anyway. Ok so the story is I bought myself a tablet pc second hand, and teh guy I was buying from didnt have to restore disks. So im wandering, I dont have an external cd/dvd rom drive (usb) to put into it and I dont want to spend anything more on it, and ordering teh discs are a mission in the place I live in. I do know how to load Windows XP onto my tablet using current network I have at home, but dont want to load windows xp cuase i will loose a lot of the functionalitly of the device. Is it possible to download some sort of add on modules to make my windows xp more like windows xp tablet edition. Like the handwriting programs, "placing cursor over a input field" and making teh virtual keyboard pop up (becuase it doesnt have a physical keyboard etc etc? If anyone out there that has anotehr solution or any information with what i have posted, please reply this post..
thank you

re: Convert XP to Tablet Edition

Short answer, no. You need to get the restore CD from the person you bought the tablet from.

Same problem - same answer

There isn't any conversion. And worse, if you try to install new peripheral hardware that isn't in the stantard list from Microsoft, you'll need those original disks - otherwise you may lose that tablet's "pen" functionality.
