    I’m getting three registrations per computer and some wierd registration name like:
    1——–z->(84h). What do these mean and why the three registrations?? Any help??

      Its typical to have several entries per machine. You get the messenger service, file server, workgroup and or domain and user. As far as the strange entries it could be an application that uses name pipes and is just registering itself into WINS. Generally it is nothing to worry about.

      First off, your 3 registrations:
      <00> Workstation service name. In general, this is the name that is referred to as the NetBIOS computer name.
      <03> Messenger service name used when receiving and sending messages. This is the name that is registered with the WINS server as the messenger service on the WINS client and is usually appended to the computer name and to the name of the user currently logged on to the computer.
      <20> Server service name used to provide sharepoints for file sharing.(Thanks to NT resource kit)
      Next is an informed guess – those are identified ports open from that IP address which do not resolve to NetBIOS names. Some may be in hex.
