WinXP SP2, Firewall, ISP Not Connecting

By Starbucksne1 ·
I have just installed the SP2 on my Windows XP. Right after that was done I haven?t been able to connect to the internet. I would have to first disable the windows firewall to connect and then enable the firewall again. My question is what should the default or normal settings be for the firewall, what would be the correct settings so that I can connect normally.

Specs: Windows Home Edition XP
Upgrade: SP2

Which ISP are you using?

As a generic first step, try to delete and re-create the network connection in control panel.
Windows firewall will NOT stop you from connecting to the internet. Also, the standard settings will not restrict web browsing or email.
It would be a lot easier to answer this question if you gave us a bit more detail. What sort of connection are you using? Explain what you mean by 'haven't been able to connect..' What actions do you take? What error message do you receive?
