wireless access via non-local domain

By dfritz87 ·
I am having an issue where the company's laptop's which are connected to the domain mybusiness.local cannot connect to random access points (for example, the local coffee shop). You can select the access point to connect to but there is no connectivity.

Thanks

No connectivity to the internet at all from those remote locations, or just no connectivity back to the domain resources?

GPO??

I would check to see if there was a GPO applied to these computers that regulates which wi-fi networks they can connect with.

I checked the GPOs but they seemed normal, I'm not 100% though, I'm just an intern and just getting my feet wet. If you have any specific information that would be great.

Coffee Shop

Have you checked to see if the coffee shop is filtering by MAC address? I hate to ask a dumb question like that, but I was having a problem with someone's router last night and that was the last thing I checked .

The coffee shop was just an example, its any random access point really that isn't connected to the local domain.
