Wireless and lan can’t share but all can go on the net.

    Locked

    by zipotron ·

I have 4 computers (3 on lan and 1 wireless) plus 2 printers on lan:

I want to share files and printer with the wireless and vice versa.

    1 Gnet BB0055 adsl modem/router with 4 ports switch (on 192.168.7.1).
    1 d-link wbr-2310 wireless (on 192.168.0.1).

1 computer on xp pro (on 192.168.7.2)
1 computer on xp pro (on 192.168.7.3)
1 computer on xp home (on 192.168.7.4)
    1 laptop on vista premium
    (on 192.168.7.5 when on lan)
(auto when on wireless generaly on 192.168.0.102)

When the laptop is on wireless it can’t print.
How can I do to make the laptop print and share with the others.

    Thanks a lot.

      different “ports”

In reply to Wireless and lan can’t share but all can go on the net.

http protocol uses port 80. windows
file-sharing uses ports 137-139. log into
the router and open some ports.

The firewall of the lan router is not set I use zonealarm in each computer for that.

turn your d-link into an Access point

      by robo_dev ·

In reply to Wireless and lan can’t share but all can go on the net.

      1) assign a static IP address to the LAN interface of the D-link (192.168.7.11)

      2) disable DHCP servvices on the d-link lan interface

      3) plug a LAN port from the d-link into the lan port on the g-net and you’re done.

        2 IP’s

        by zipotron ·

In reply to turn your d-link into an Access point

        I have 2 IP’s:

        LAN: IP = 192.168.0.1 / 255.255.255.0

        WAN: IP = 192.168.7.99 / 255.255.255.0

And my IP of my modem is 192.168.7.1

I can service the wireless config on my wired computer on 192.168.7.99:8080

Wich one I change and what I do with the other.

        thanks!

You have to search by the IP address of the system

      where the printer is located.

I “assume” you have the printer shared out.

connect to the lan with a wire, then setup the laptop to print to the system that has a printer, using the IP address of the system, not the name.

After that is done, it will find the system and printer when you switch over to the wireless.

        ??

I try that but even if the laptop can config the LAN on 192.168.7.1 it can’t use the IP for installing the printer but the name is ok and it can’t print with the name on the wireless.

        Most be config error?

        Thank.
