Wireless optical mouse

By Judy_G ·
Our VP bought a microsoft wireless optical blue mouse, and for the first month it worked great.

Here we are, a month later, and all of a sudden the initial mouse we bought is going haywire. It randomly moves around the screen setting off events.

We've replaced the batteries and I've uninstalled IntelliPoint software as suggested by some other users having similar problems. (After some searching, there are apparently a lot of people who are having problems with this mouse.)

Anyway, we're still having problems. Does anybody have any other suggestions, or can anybody tell me if logitech's cordless optical mouse is any better?

An guy in my office had THREE wireless mice and all of them sucked badly. They had the same issues you described as well as not moving at all.

The question I asked him was WHY did he need a wireless mouse? An optical works fine but the wireless, good luck!

He has a notebook, and his theory was less to hook up?!? This I don'y understand. You plug in the notebook, then your wireless receiver. How is this different than plugging in your mouse?

Do yourself a favour, get him a USB optical mouse for 20 bucks. No ball to clean, other than your own, no batteries to buy, no calls to service or trips to the store for exchanges.
Sounds like a money saving opportunity to me!

Does this person have a notebook with a trackpoint? That is a MASSIVE reason for carple tunnel (or are shoulder problems due to injury?)
I found that I couldn't even LOB a baseball after having my notebook for 6 months and I used to pitch for AAA. As soon as I got a good mouse pad with gel wrist rest at work and a mouse for my notebook, my shoulder got a lot better. I pitched an exhibition game for a friends hardball team last week!

Any other devices been moved into the area which would give off radio frequencies, or fans , or anything else which may cause disruptions? Cell phones?

The first thing I looked for was something causing interference, but I could find nothing that hasn't been there all along. I've had it running on my own pc for a few hours now, and it is working fine.
The person using it is having shoulder problems, and while a cable extender will help, the wireless seemed ideal, so I'm hoping to figure something out for him.

Your dealing with a latest and greatest type ceo, real simple , get him the newest of something else and he'll forget about the mouse, give him back his wired mouse and make a deal with him.
If he stop bothering you about the mouse you'll give him (this)
