Word 2003 and QuarkXpress (.mcw)

By parasailingdiva ·
After updating several of my users to Office 2003 they are now unable to save files with the extention .mcw because Word 2003 no longer list the extention as an Save option. User had this option available to them in Office/Word 2000. I checked Microsoft and QuarkXpress sites, but I don't see an extention available for the QuarkXpress .mcw file format. Please advise if you know where, when or how I can get this plug-in and/or extention to support the .mcw file format

Thank you.

G'day,

You are correct in that there is no save option with Word 2003 and the .mcw file extension. As QuarkXPress 6 is built for Mac OS X, or so it says on their Website, you may want to look at new software to use instead if using the Office 2003 product.

In the meantime, you can use a file converter to make the files .doc files or ?? Not exactly sure what you'd like to do. Anyways, here's a link for a converter that is a 30-day trial version that would allow you to carry on with work for the time being.

There are also others out there.....

Other than that, I have no more suggestions.

Good luck with your endeavours!
