Word Document Not Printing

By mpd881 ·
One of my users has a document in Word 2003 she uses as an address list for a merge document. She adds to it regularly and periodically prints it out. She did this last month just fine. Today she opened the document and it looks fine. Then she goes to print it and nothing prints, except the footer (path of the document). Same in print preview. Looking at it, it appears to be a large table. Whenever I click after the data, it disappears and when I click on it, it reappears. So I'm thinking for some reason it is not printing the table. I've checked Microsoft and the KB didn't help me at all. Any suggestions? Thanks for the help.

Hello...

Sounds like the document is inconsistent or damaged and MS Word is not handling it well.

I suggest you have your user cut and paste from the current document in steps to create a new document. Don't make the steps too large and try printing as s/he adds to the new document. This may isolate the problem to a specific section. It also may just correct the problem and the new document will be complete OK.

Whenever I've had an MS Word document behave strangely, this sort of procedure always corrected it.

Let me know if this worked.

I tried that and it didn't work. As I was working with it, I noticed that somehow the whole document got pushed 11 inches to the side, and that is why it didn't print. I couldn't get it to move over, so I figured this is not a file to have people use, so she is going to enter it into Excel and merge from there.

Thanks for the help.
