"Workstaion or Server"

By bnc ·
Background:
I have a user w/ a Win95 PC and he creates web pages using Frontpage. The web pages he creates are saved to his local HDD. Once in awhile, he saves these web page files to a directory on a NT 4.0 Server.

Problem:
In the process of copying files to the directory on the Server, the user receives an error message that says "Cannot copy the file xxx.xxx. The files is in use." The weird thing is some files he can copy to the directory and some he can't. Also, when he attempts to delete a directory, he receives this message too.

Additional Info:
This user has full control permissions to the directory on the server. I've tried using his login name on a different workstation and do some copying, editing, and deleting of files and directories and I am ABLE to do so.

You have permissions at the local of each machine,so he must not have rights to change or delete files on the server, which has to added to a group or granting rights through user manager

At first, this error occurred when the user was part of a group that has been granted change permissions. I thought the problem had something to do with permissions. So I assigned just his user name Full control to the directory and he still has this problem.

Exactly as what it says, "Cannot copy the file xxx.xxx. The files is in use.".

It is not a bug or anything but the file is indeed infact open or still in use thats why it cannot be copied over to the server.
The workaround on this is simply savehis work first, then close frontpage and then do the network copying or backing up to the server.

I forgot to add that the file that he is trying to copy is actually NOT in use. The use does save his work first and then backs it up on the server

How do I go about checking the Database Locking file? If you are talking about using the Server component in Control Panel, I have checked this and there are no lock indicated.
