Write a text file through a print driver

By pricepd ·
Is there a print driver for windows98 that will print to a text file automatically when that "printer" is selected. My problem is, I have a proprietary program that will not allow us to export our database data to Excel or a text file, we can only print to a printer. So I was thinking if i could find a print driver that would print to a text file instead of a printer, I could get around the problem.

You can use the Generic/Text Printer driver. From your printers folder add a new printer. It will be a local printer. The manufacturer will be "Generic" and the printer will be "Generic / Text Only". Select "FILE:" as your printer port. When youprint to this a dialog box will appear asking where you want to save the output.

1.On Priners folder choose "Add Printer"
2.Local Printer
3.Manifacturers:"Generic" & Printers:"Generic/Text only"
4.Available ports "FILE: Creates File on disk"
5.Set printers name & set it as "Default" if need to
6.Print Test page to see if itis installed properly

Hope this is what you need from.
