Wrong font in Outlook 2002

By john.m1 ·
hi, not sure if this is a win2k problem or office xp 0r Outlook specific.

suddenly (without any reason that i can determine) i have a big ugly font in several places. 'Outlook' headers e.g. FROM-SUBJECT-TO,
also in the options for outlook the font is so big and ugly that it does not all fit within the dialogue box. (the tabs font is normal though)
Maximised (selected) apps on the task bar display the wrong font.

i have tried windows and office 'repairs' but am thinking a simple registry hack is needed?

Please help it is driving me nuts.

Thanks in advance

Turn off the check mark next to "Use Microsoft Word to edit email messages".
or
Change font preference in Internet Explorer
or
Tools> Options Mail Format Fonts
or
View Customize Current View Other Settings

i did wonder if it was a corrupt font? doesn't seem to be.
it also affects warning/confirmation boxes that pop up in other office programs (word).
How can i change fonts for these objects?
i have tried both from within outlook options and windows but no luck, this is why i wondered if it has to be done via the registry?
Thanks
