xp account problem

By Mario Agosto ·
Hello:
I recently upgraded my win2k server. I have a mix of 98/me and xp pro clients. My win98/me clients work fine, my problem lies with the xp clients. I went to run quickbooks, quickbooks responded with an error massage saying that the account was created with restricted acces. I whent and checked the account settings both in the server and in the workstation, this particular user is setup as an administrator in both places but i still get the same message. Any suggestions will greatly be apriciated.
Thanks in advance.

You have the right idea that they have the same rights on both (although I would be concerned about them having the Administrator rights). The next thing to check is that the User name is worded exactly the same on both machines and that the password is exactly the same.

The next alternative would be to set special privileges on the executable file for Quickbooks.
Locate the file itself via My Computer and right click on it, select 'Properties' then select 'Security' then highlight the Username and change the permissions by clicking on the relevant boxes in the window.
