Antispyware

What is the best software?

There are many out there. Management came to me one day and asked me to test Spybot Search&Destroy and Adaware.

Thus far, it seems that neither is better than the other.

Is Spybot S&D. But I guarantee that you will hear about everyone's personal favorite.

It's almost like asking what your favorite AV is. Everyone has a winner of their own.

I understand that Grisoft has developed a spybot tool that works with their AV in a suite of tools. I would give that offering a look as well- AVG is a great product so I would imagine that the spyware product is as good.

This product is developed by a company that they bought called Ewido back in April of 1996. This company rocks.

I've used AVG for several years now and because of the merger with Ewido became a reseller of their professional lines.

I would upgrade my Virus protection to include spyware and malware by looking into AVG if I were you.

When it comes to spy/malware, I have found that they ALL find ones that the others miss, so I regularly use AdAware and AVGspyware, and if I suspect a problem, pull out the S&D.

jdclyde is right he gets the thumb. Another feature of the latest Spybot is the fact that once installed and updated you can copy the install directory from Program Files to a USB stick or CD and run it independently on another machine.

Both are installed on all of our systems in addition to the (unnamed) enterprise level antivirus software which has anti-spyware/mal-ware/trojan/junk programs checking built in too.
