Audio Recording to Computer file

jeek1990
I have recorded something on an Olympus VN-7100 digital voice recorder and want to transfer it onto my computer as a file. I don't see a USB port anywhere on the recorder so I'm wondering how to do this.

1 x 3.5mm Stereo jack to jack lead
    1 x 3.5mm stereo to mono adapter
Connect device to line/mic in of PC
Copy of Audacity Audio recording software.

    > 1 x 3.5mm stereo to mono adapter

What's the point of that? Why would he want to downgrade his recording from stereo to mono?

    > Surf web quietly and drink tea.

He doesn't need to be quiet. The signal is being fed directly into the sound card via cable, therefore no background audio will be heard.
