I have the same problem, but I can't find the solution. Is it possible you tell me how you resolved this problem? I'm waiting for your answer....
That Dell I just redid for work has three 'base devices' with question marks. I wonder. Just might be battery related...
Thumb for you. ![]()
sorted by the service tag, and it gave the version of the utility for the laptop.
Thanks.
and no deals. Bios was already at the most current.
Problem was solved, posted at end.
Copied the file from another system, pointed to that, "problem" solved.
Don't know why the file would be on my desktop but not on a clean install for the laptop.
...to replace the AC adapter. The bricks contain a chip that communicates with the motherboard to monitor battery charge status, etc. One way to test this is to connect a known good adapter and see if the device list situation clears up.
Battery Driver not found for Dell Latitude
Just got a hand-me-down Dell Latitude D810, just had to do a wipe and load to reasure previous owner their old data was gone.
Loaded XP Pro SP3, then downloaded the drivers from the Dell site based on the service tag. Everything is working great.
Only problem I am having is under the hardware list, the first thing listed is "Batteries" with three "unknown devices" listed beneith it, each with the Yellow Exclamation point.
At bootup it keeps wanting me to install the driver, but can't find it anywhere?
Any ideas? Thanks in advance.
