Good one.....but that must have been a rough week ![]()
Get a DVD player that will plug in to the car power. Have a few kids movies and a couple of cartoons and you can drive more than 2 hours with kids, easily.
We've been driving from NY to FL annually for 10 years, a 22 hour trip, starting when the kids were 3 and 5. We got a little sick of "Barney"'s "I love you" song, but then we found a "Y" for the headphones and didn't have to listen to it. Kids sat in the back glued to the **** tube. We "deprived" them of TV for a week before we left, so they couldn't get enough of it in the car.
Next year the older one will have his license, so we'll have 3 drivers instead of 2.
sometimes they have kite building and other fun things for kids.
But it keeps the peoples of the far north alive. Not big on cooking fires - can't really burn snow. (And if snow did burn, we'd all be in a world of trouble.)
I've seen lightning over the Atlantic just from short trips to the New England area. And plenty over Lake Erie. Some over Lake Huron (Saginaw Bay), and plenty over many smaller lakes in Michigan and Ohio.
Our inland freshwater sea has plenty of that, in general.
Of course, I've been to NYC and didn't see the Statue of Liberty or the Empire State Building or Grand Central. But I did get to chase two large, muddy dogs through Central park at two in the A.M. Included lightning as well.
lightning over the water before....just amazed me!
She's lived within 30 minutes of the Atlantic Ocean for over (let's just say more than 29 years) and has never seen lightning over the water until last night.
Well.....she can cross that off her list now....it was a medium to low end display but I think it still scared the $h1t out of her ![]()
didn't manage to catch it & get it on the grill though ![]()
