lisa2265
I am still having the same issue with my computer as last week. I installed a new hard drive, actually a refurbished one, and now I can't load my op. It says go to BIOS and set up. And I dod and I set it up to run off my dvd-rw. put the disk in and nothing. Same message. I ordered a new power supply because someone had mentioned it couold be that, if it's not, what else could it be. Could I need a new motherboard??????????????????
PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You say you are having an issue? Which one, and please be specific.
You say you installed a hard disk and then set it up in the BIOS? Did you manually type the info in or did it autodetect?
You say you want to boot from a DVD-RW, and that it give you a msg? Which one?
I dont think you issue is a power supply or a motherboard, you need to be more specific about what is or is not happening.

I have tried to install my OP system onto the computer. I get as far as the screen with the error message"Reboot and choose drive or insert media" . I have tried to manually set up the BIOS and even AUTO detect but I can't get past the error message. Seagate told me to unplug the hard drive and when I did and I still was receiving that message they told me som ething was wrong with my computer. I am stumped..

make sure your bios detects the hard drive and in order to confirm the sucessfull installation their are free third part hard disk diagnostics tools available for free for example their is Maxtor power diag and WD has their own version as well. evn though they are from different vendors their functionality is universal meaning they would check drive for errors even from different vendors. Run maxtor power diag options except the alst one which is low level format, you don't want to do that at this point. If all the cheks passed sucessfully then go ahead boot your system with a boot disk and see if it lets you create and format partitions and run a scandisk while you're at it. after passing all of the above stages i would suggest boot from a cd rom drive which in your case is your burner. Post the results here after you're through and in case you need a hard disk diagnostic utility feel free to email me at psingh8281@msn.com.

    Hi,

First make sure your hard drive is auto detect.
Second go into bios and make first boot device floppy disk
Third download the program called wipe disk from this link http://www.downloadjunction.com/product/software/545/index.html
Fourth and last format your drive using wipe disk.
    Thanks
