These are the first things that come to mind for your problem.

First, go into your Control Panel / Network Connections / either the Local Area Connection Properties or the Wireless Connection Properties, whichever is giving you the trouble / TCP/IP Properties, and make sure that IP address and DNS are set to "automatically obtain." Also click the Advanced button and make sure that nothing is explicitly entered for Default Gateway, nor anything on the DNS tab.

Secondly, run the Winsock fix per this article:
      http://support.microsoft.com/kb/811259

If one of these restores functionality, run a full virus scan on your computer, and full malware scans with Spybot and super anti-spyware.

I have the same problem at times but not lately. My computer will say that I am connected to the internet but it will not connect to any internet browsers or programs, and my internet will disconnect if I use my cordless phone.
I have a Cable modem downstairs, and the computer I use is a floor up, so it's wireless.

Had the same issue...my network said I was connected, but could not access the internet. Could access computer etc. Went onto my desktop as I thought it was just the laptops, but couldn't access the net on the desktop which is wired to the router/modem. So I unplugged the power to the router and modem, waiting 10 seconds and plugged them back in, let them "cycle" and come back up and then tried it...and boom...it was all working again!
