Computer connects but can not access the internet

jnaguirre
I have a desktop and 2 laptops. Suddenly one of my laptops will not access the internet. I have a network connection and it's strong but no internet. The desktop and other laptop can access the internet just fine.

The last thing I installed on the problem laptop was the Blackberry application. But the internet access worked after installation last week. I just lost internet access just a few days ago. I even tried uninstalling the Blackberry application but it still did not restore internet access.

I ran diagnostic on the connection and here's what I got:

If you turn off the proxy, it will probably connect to the internet. Although, it might not connect to the Blackberry.

    Automatically Detect Settings:Disabled
Automatic Configuration Script: Proxy Server:10.11.0.140:8080 Proxy Bypass list:10.*;*apmoller.net;*.local

To fix it, go to your connection and set everything to automatic.

I've been trying o figure ths out for days now..nothing seems to work...updated to XP Home SP3 even, and still not connecting to most,if not all all HTTPS websites. I can cruise around the web, but sigining into email, etc dumps me like I have the plague and wont connect to servers. THIS SITE IS THE ONLY ONE THAT HAD MY INFO AND CONNECTED CORRECTLY!

First run a thorough virus/malware scan. It sounds like your TCP/IP stack is corrupt.

You might try to repair Windows from the original disks, and it might work.

It might be easiest just to wipe and reinstall/reimage, and start clean.
