computer wont boot up

cellcraig
I have a Dell Dimension 4550 desktop. Once the computer is booted up and says on the windows xp forever. I spoke with Dell tech support and they state that the Hard drive needs to be replaced. Do I need to replace the hard drive or is something else wrong here. Also what would be the best hard drive to replace it with. Im looking to go with a 80gb.

Thanks

To repalce the hard drive sounds easy and simple to do task. as you have also consulted the tech support for the repalcement, i guess data on the corrupt hard drive would be a matter of concern. In this case you can try hard drive recovery software: http://www.nucleustechnologies.com to get back your data, if you do have something important on the disk.

    Hi Craig,

I think this the problem even I faced. It must be the problem of the AGP card in your system or the BIOS of your motherboard and it has nothing to do with your dard drive. If you want to go for a hard drive then go for creative 80GB harddisk.......Hope this will answer your query.
