Does having Linksys software loaded in you laptop interfere?

Does having Linksys software loaded in your laptop interfere with the normal operation when connectiong to the wireless, secure network? An error message said " Your saved network settings do not match the network requirements.It does this even when the Linksys Advisor is not running. It connects ok unsecure.

    It just means that the secure logon you saved is wrong. You aren't using the same security settings as the router or whatever - I don't know, I'm not overly familiar with Linksys error messages, but I'm sure that Linksys is.

    But I never use router or ISP connection software on a computer. It is mostly just excess junk. Everything you can do with it, you can do with your OS or on the router.
