Excel: Shared a workbook and now spreadsheet will not calculate

cmikesh
I have a sorce spreadsheet for which another sheet is linked to pull data. I shared the workbook which may or may not be part of the problem. When I make formula changes in the workbook, the formulas are copying and show in the cell, but the calculation does not seem to be working. It will show zero most of the time.

it's a formula problem, not a calculation problem. If you're getting zeros in CHANGED cells, your formulas are doing exactly what you told them to do AND they can find the source data AND they're calculating. If they weren't, you would get an error.

If these formulas used the conditional sum wizard that sets the { } curley brackets around the formula, you need to hold CTRL+SHIFT while pressing ENTER in that cell after you have changed it.

If you use circular references in your spreadsheet, make sure the iteration check box is checked (Tools->Options->Calculation). Sometimes when you share a workbook, the checkmark disappears.

When sharing a spreadsheet that required BIN2DEC & DEC2BIN functions, other users couldn't get the values to calculate because they did not have the Analysis Toolpak addins.
When they sent the spreadsheet back to me, the vaules would not calculate without copying the formulas anew.
