I know this is an old thread but since I was able to find it I am sure others will.
This sounds like the same problem I was having. When I would login to the RDWeb service I could see the apps but once I tried to open them I got the "cannot find/connect to computer" error.
The problem was that on the RD Gateway I entered the FQDN in the server name area instead of the name that the DNS had on record.
I entered ( instead of (servername).
