extracting data from a toshiba hdd2a30

dakcor
I've read the post titled "Extracting data from a dead laptop with a laptop hard drive adapter" and was wondering if anyone has tried to do this with a toshiba hdd2a30 from a sony vaio. Pins are not the same even after taking apart. any suggestions on a adaptor or another way to get a file off of here would be of immense help> Thanks Cory

You need either a laptop HDD cable adapter, or a SATA cable (as I seem to find that this is a SATA drive).

Check a shop that sells computers or

It will support any SATA or PATA HDD and when connected to the Drive from the Dead Computer will allow you to plug it into any USB port on another computer to read whatever you chose.

Check out the BlacX by Thermaltake.

This device has been a time saver for me more than once. There are two different models now. One with two slots, and the older with a single. They allow hot-swapping of SATA drives. Great for backups and for recovering data off of old drives.
