Use the chip detector download, it may help identify which package might Be your drivers.Every other download site I've tried points to Vimicro.com, so I can't point you anywhere else. + 0 Votes Hello seanferd Rickuno 4 years ago Thanks for the Link of Vimicro - I try the chip detector - but the chip detector don`t recognice my webcam.I loose my patience and open the webcam, this is the Chip: VC0345 I found this discription about the Chip: VC0345 is a controller chip for USB 2.0 notebook PC embedded cameras with high resolution (up to 2mega pixel). It sounds nice - up to 2M pixels - but it`s nothing when I can`t become the right "dll" for this webcam....I can`t find a support on the vimicro-webside for this webcam. Please help me to become the "dll" for this webcam - I was so excited to buy it - but now I reach my possibilities of comuterknowhow and minimum 20 hours seeking in the internet. Thanks for every help.... + 0 Votes When did you buy this Web Cam OH Smeg 4 years ago And what came with it? Generally these have a CD that are supplied with them that has the required Drivers and Software to use the Web Cam. Have you used that to install the necessary Drivers and Software? As Seanford has already said all download hits point to the Makers Web Site which appears to be under construction after a redesign or some other problem and that Web Site most defiantly doesn't list your Particular Web Cam or at least none of the 4 Series ones. They go from 3 to 5 in their available downloads.http://www.vimicro.com/english/download_n.htmCol + 0 Votes Hello OH Smeg thank you for your answer Rickuno 4 years ago You are right, there was a CD - but there was no drivers included - only a program for making video and interpolate.I try to install it many times - I try different possiblities1. install program and restart than connect the webcam 2. install program without restart and connect webcam3. connect webcam and try it with the harware wisard - the wisard seek the driver on the CD - but not foundI buy this webcam some weeks ago - it was cheap - but I havent`t expect that I will become this problem...I think - this webcam is a newer model - and vimicro don`t have the driver for this new models - or don`t upload it in the Download Center.... If there are no drivers included they should be part of the OS and the OS should just recognize and load whatever is necessary when you plug in the Web Cam.I know some of the bigger stores here buy in their Own Brands of Electronics and their Web Site has Drivers even if they do not list the actual maker. Internet Shops should have the same thing available on their Web Sites as well but for places like E-Bay I'm not sure what you can do there.Only thing I can suggest if there where no Drivers with the New Device is to look at your OS and as I think it was XP here try running SFC From the Run Box to rebuild the OS to As New and see if ti works now. Only thing there is that you'll have to reapply any Service Packs and Hot Fixes that have been made available since your Install Disc was made. Also if this computer is part of a Domain it is possible that there are Group Policies in Place to limit the USB Devices that can be connected or something like that. OldER Mycroft 4 years ago Ahem - Did you bother reading the thread? Or was that too difficult for you?http://tinyurl.com/yd54faa + 0 Votes Not that helpful fjp 4 years ago The first result calls up a 'driver detector' program (whose results doubtless require payment) not the driver itself, so the sarcasm wasn't really justified. I'm in exactly the same boat, with a webcam with the same chip, and the main problem is that Vimicro's own detector program insists that it isn't one of their products! + 0 Votes Dreamer 111...
