How can I print from my wireless laptop?

mlmyers196
How can I print from my wireless laptop? My laptop is using MS's Vista OS and connects to my router via an on-board WiFi. If possible, I wish to keep my desktop PC connected to the printer via usb. The desktop OS is Win7 64-bit.

just like you have a wifi router to route the internet signal to multiple computers, you would also need a print server to route print jobs from multiple computers to a single printer.

you might try looking for a wireless print server

Wrong!!! You, as th OP is willing to keep the desktop ON, have to just share the printer in the desktop OS Win7 64-bit and give proper rights and proper drivers enable for proper OS AND map the shared printer on the Laptop. This can be done even in a Home Network. I have this setup on Router having Broadband with WiFi capability for 2 PCs (Desktop) and 3 Laptops and 7 Smartphones and even Smart TV (connected to internet through the same router through Wireless) at my residence.

Sorry. I forgot to mention that the printer is connected to and shared through one of the PCs having OS Win7 64-bit at my residence setup.

@bhai - i know about sharing printers and the o.p. likely does too. but that wasn't the question posed.

It certainly was the question. The OP wants to keep the printer connected to the PC via USB. Not sure where a print server is the answer there. File and print sharing is.

If the PC won't be left on (but the printer is, for whatever reason), then the printer should be connected to the router.
