How can you calculate total time for multiple h:mmm cells using Excel?

rlesnikowski
A process is being timed and I need to calculate the total. I have the elapsed time cells formatted with h:mmm.
SUM works fine until you exceed 24 hours.

Example:
4 hrs 30 mins
2 hrs 26 mins
3 hrs 17 mins
Total - 10 hrs 13 mins

It is likely that this is a cell format issue. The reason it appears to stop working after 24 hours is that it automatically incremented the day +1 for every 24 hours. To change the format on the cell to display the SUM() of hours, with no days, use a custom cell format of "[h]:mm" (without quotes). The brackets around the [h] are important.
