How do I configure 2 NICs one for DSL and the other for IP/VPN.

patdiaz
Recently our office blocked access of our email through DSL because they have implement IP/VPN. One solution that I have in mind is to add another NIC. I dunno if what I have in mind is right or wrong. What is important is I should be able to access the internet and should also be able to access my email through IP/VPN. Thank you.

It gives me the impression that they blocked access to the internet. Installing a second NIC it wouldn't help in this case unless you connect it to a second switch/router. The idea for VPN is to remotely login to the office and work.

    Hi Pat,

I don't see any reason why you need to install a second NIC for you to access the internet. Isn't it that you are the LAN Administrator?

Another is IP/VPN is technology used to join geographically dispersed networks and or to connect mobile workers to your corporate network. If your corporate network offers internet browsing. Clients connected via VPN will have internet connection as well unless their profile/machine is explicitly denied to have the service.

Being the LAN Admin as your job description says.. Im sure you dont need a second NIC card for you to access the Internet.

Or simply Plug in a Smart Bro USB internet connection it's snappier than installing a second NIC.
