However, any executable programs CANNOT be transferred to the other hard drive since they all have Registry Entries that point to the existing hard drive where they are sitting right now. You would have to Reinstall the executable programs on the other hard drive. Any data files associated with these programs could simply be copied across to the relevant directory/folder. - This would also involve UNINSTALLING these programs BEFORE you format it, in order to clean out all the orphaned Registry entries that will no longer be used! Any files that are not programs (data files, documents, photos, audio tracks) can be copied without difficulty, using a File Manager of your choice (like Windows Explorer).
