How do you downloaded embeded flash video?

Courtyardtech
Hello all. I've come across a problem. We need to download an Flash Video file from a news stations website: http://www.wdsu.com/news/24124198/detail.html?taf=no (we actually have written permission). The file is apparently not archived at their station, but they do have it still on their website.

I have tried both Orbit and Ant download programs for retrieving FLV files from websites. Both give me only the 30 second commercial that proceeds the video, but not the 2 minute video?

Any ideas or suggestions?

Here is a link to the page with the embedded FLV file:

Perhaps you are right, add-ons video download helper surely helps, but only suitable for youtube stuff, some protected flash videos could not be downloaded, so you need some video recording programs to capture embedded flash video.

I am not actually working with your given site, but captuing embedded video from youtube or other streaming sites with this software program could be so simple and fast. Video Download Helper could be also the one, I guess. Only plug it on firefox browser, enable the download icon.

install real player it has a download video plug in that works on firefox - I havn't used it much in the new version but what you need to do is hit play on the video mouse over it and it will pop up a little button that says download this video. In the old version you would have to click download and it woudl download anything streaming to your machine from the point in the play back that you clicked download. Not sure if the new version fixes this or not but if you wait till the video is cached by your browser you won't get the whole thing.

    Try that hope it helps.
