how to recover deleted outlook personal folders

cyuval
hi,
I added another account to my single outlook profile. the account was connected to gmail server and all seemed to work fine. I then accidentally removed the exchange account and by that lost all folders. i don't have a server connection any more. how can i restore my folders and content. i do see the pst and ost files which seem to be fine, at least according to thier size (1Gbyte OST file...)
help!

thanks

I tried that. for some reason the folders didn't appear. it only sync'd calendar items and for some reason they appeared in my deleted items. no folders were created for tasks, contacts etc

They may be able to recreate everything from the Exchange server end of things.

The files on the exchange server and the PST files are two different things. The server files are stored on the server. The PST file is stored on your local computer. Some servers are configured so you can see the files stored there while in offline mode and THAT'S probably what you were not seeing (the OST files) until you connected to the server and it synchronized them for you.

But, we're glad you got it working.

Did you try to archive after creating the profile?

do a search on the whole of your Pc for *.pst

If this is fact the correct pst file then just open outlook > File > Open > Outlook data file > and point it towards that.

Is the OST file massive as well? as thats the offline version. you may actually have to convince outlook that you are still using that exchange server :S

Yes I had accidently removed my profile which contained my personel folders, and i did not find any of my folders, I created new profile and linked it to the pst, an d obviously it was the largest one and I got all my folders back , when Iopened my outlook. - Thanks AYJE

Option# 2. one can create a new profile and then open your outlook, and under your All Mail Folders, Right Clik on the Current Personal Folders and select open Outlook Data File on the drop down list and select that pst(accidentaly removed one) and clik ok , you will see it right under your Current Personal Folders , you can change the delivery location back to your previous PFolder by opening Tools / e-mail accounts / and and select your desired PFolder by clicking on the drop down arrow, under the "Deliver new e-mail to the following location"
