IE6-7-8 crash, Modname:UNKNOWN

I've been having a problem with Internet explorer crashing. At any given time, but far too regularly, a dialog box will pop up saying it has encountered a problem and needs to close.

Here is the error signature:
AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 8.0.6001.18702 ModName: unknown
ModVer: 0.0.0.0 Offset: 04091f9d

I've uninstalled and reinstalled IE's 6-8, and nothing seems to work. I've manually disabled all add-ons, and that doesn't seem to work.

It's insanely frustrating, and I can't seem to figure out what is wrong. I thought maybe I had a problem with Windows Updates, but I ran Belarc Advisor, and it said they were all installed properly. Any ideas?

EDIT: I forgot to mention that I get this problem every single time I use GMAIL. Without fail.

    clear your browser's cache. To clear your cache in IE:

    In Internet Explorer 6.x:

    Click the Tools menu at the top of your browser, and select Internet Options.
    Click the General tab at the top of the dialogue box.
    Click Delete Files under Temporary Internet files.
    Select Delete all offline content by checking the box.
    Click OK.

    In Internet Explorer 7:

    Click Tools > Internet Options.
    Select the General tab.
    Click Delete under Browsing History.
    Under Temporary Internet Files, click Delete Files.
    Click Delete Cookies.
    Click OK.

    If you still can't sign in, try logging in securely by changing the URL to https://mail.google.com.

    Registry:

    Download and install CCleaner to tidy up your Registry. Backup the Registry as you go along, rescan again and again saving as you go until there are no errors left.

    Cleaner: Windows

    When you first open Ccleaner you will have an option to Analyze or Run Cleaner, after checking the left Pane and making your choices. Delete all Temp Files. If you scroll down you will see a greyed out box that has Advanced next to it. Left click on it and keep pressing OK to all of the responses. I normally Untick Windows Log Files and Memory Dumps as they may come in handy.

    You don't have to install all of the add ons or shortcuts just the one to the Desktop.

    Download Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, install it and update it and scan your Sysytem.

    * Double-click mbam-setup.exe and follow the prompts to install the program.
    * At the end, be sure a checkmark is placed next to Update Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and Launch Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware, then click Finish.
    * If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.
    * Once the program has loaded, select Perform Quick Scan, then click Scan.
    * When the scan is complete, click OK, then Show Results to view the results.
    * Be sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.

    If you encounter any problems while downloading the updates, manually download them from here and just double-click on mbam-rules.exe to install.

    I would keep scanning with it until it is clean by closing out and rebooting and running it again.

    Well, I did all that and I'm still getting the same problems. It seems like email webpages such as yahoo and gmail are what cause most of my crashes.

    Any other ideas?

    Open Internet Explorer, go to the TOOLS drop down menu
    Select INTERNET OPTIONS
    Select the ADVANCED tab
    Scroll down towards the bottom of the list and click the box to put a check mark next to "Use SSL 2.0"

    Download filemon from SysInternals. Start logging when you run your browser. Then stop filemon from logging just after your error. Then look in the Filemon Log for any discrepancies.
