Inserting a logo in email signatures

htranter
Logos in email signatures
I need to include a logo with address info as a picture file which will
appear on all emails from one company.
(It needs to be seen on Macs and PCs.)

Using a JPG looks 'fuzzy'.
We need a format that is small MB size but sharp - so it looks
professional and text can be read.

All advice appreciated.
Many thanks,
Trant

PNG files are small and work well for us.

The only format that outlook will not compress is GIF if its small enough. You should have a 16bit version of your logo in static .GIF. You will be limited by colours but you can get a very sharp image. Also don't forget that the best tool for editing signatures in Outlook 2007 is Microsoft Word 2007. Outlook 2007 uses the Word 2007 rendering engine. I tend to use a mixture of text editor for layout, and word for styling. Simply because Outlook 2007 is designed to make you use other Microsoft products. In an ideal world no one would use outlook, but for us email designers and IT admins we just have to live with it.
