installing aol on vista

ashbourne.ct
AOL was already installed on my brand new Vista PC but you have to install the drivers for whichever modem you are using, but i keep getting the message that there was an error & no drivers were installed, next time round it runs through the entire installation but can't find a dial tone. at this point i have uninstalled & installed it 10 times so god knows how many bits are left on there. Is there a reason or a certain sequence in which you have to do the installation

if so, go to the mfg web site and get the latest drivers for Vista [check device manager to see if drivers for the modem are properly installed].

AOL has a Vista version of software designated VR [for Vista Ready] make sure that the version of AOL you have says VR. If not get VR

I have Vista on my pc and any download I try from the AOL website only gets me a bug-ridden version of whatever I try to install. AOL 8.0 won't install at all nor will 9.0 Optimized, AOL 9.1, VR, and 10.0 and AOL Desktop all have errors and bugs, emails flutter the video making searching emails a pure pain in the tukus.. So I've just come to the conlusion that AOL Has No Vista Version, Really!

    AOL Why NOT?

I suspect your problem is finding a compatible modem driver and not AOL. Probably need to go to the modem makers site or hp support and find the correct driver.
I don't even want to think about some one putting AOL on a new PC.
