Internal hard drive error

Recently on yesterday I bought Dell Latitude D610 laptop without hard drive and also I install a 60Gb IDE Hard drive and tried to setup windows 7 as I have Original disk for it but Dell Latitude D610 having Original system with Windows XP
Now it showing Internal hard drive error and hard drive not detected so what help can help me in this case

    not sure on your particular model, but many times you access the BIOS setup
    by pressing F12 or sometimes ESC right after you power the computer on.
    From there, you just find the IDE detection, and see if auto-detect is enabled.

    ...on a D610, but good luck getting Windows 7 installed. Installing Win 7 is possible, but difficult; I'm using a D810 that is running Win 7, but only because I was able to hack the driver for the ATI Radeon video card.

    You may have an internal problem as simple as your connections. Try dissassembling your computer and checking to see if your data cable and you power supply are connected. When you boot your PC back up access the BIOS menu and check to see if your motherboard is reading your HDD.
