Issues with 2nd DHCP scope

Matthaus*
Hi guys,

We are having an issue implementing a second DHCP scope.

Basically we currently have a scope set with the following:

172.29.3.1-253
255.255.0.0

This is in use for the PCs, has been around years and works fine.

We want (need) to add a second scope of the following for our VoIP phones:

172.33.1.3-254
255.255.255.0

Now the issue we seem to have is:

When we try to assign a reservation in the second scope for an IP by MAC. No matter if we use a VoIP phone or a PC the device does not collect its reservation in the second scope, it just always with out fail collects a regular lease in the 1st range (scope).

We read some where that it certain situations you need a network card on the DHCP server with an address specified in each of the scopes. We tried setting both multiple IPs on the NIC as well as trying 2 seperate cards with an IP on each from each scope - neither helped.

Help.. please!?

Thanks!
