Laptop Data Saving: Drives Are Opening Others First, Then What I Require

Others First
The recently purchased Dell Laptop is giving me a headache. I am not too aware of storage purposes, and used to store everything in the D drive folder. However, lately as I switch off the laptop and switch it on again, the memory shows empty. All my important documents, pictures and data have just vanished. But the surprising part is, there is detection of virus by the anti-virus installed, which I update and use regularly. So, what cold be the possible solution to this? The functioning of the laptop is otherwise fine, it does not even change the desktop background or icons, but shows extra storage drives. And when I try to open D drive, it opens all others first, and then the D drive, showing it to be empty.

I am (Others First) in a mess. Kindly revert back.
