LGA 2011 Motherboard, which one is better?

I am looking at upgrading my motherboard and CPU. I am looking at the Intel Core i7-3820 for the LGA 2011 socket.

So the question is motherboards, and I decided that I want a good one.

I just found the ASRock Fatal1ty X-79 'Champion' on E-Bay, but I can't find it on NewEgg yet:

How does it compare to the Asus Rampage IV Extreme?

Looks like similar specs, but I think I can get the Fatal1ty X79 Champion for much less.

Any opinions?

    OH Smeg

And Personally I would only look at the ASUS Board here never consider the ASRock as I have found them less than Stellar.

But by the same token I wouldn't be considering a ASUS Board either as I have seen numerous failures of these as well when compared to what Gigabyte makes.

But that's just me and I now only use Gigabyte M'Boards for any computers that I build.

Others may very well have had different experiences or believe differently. Oh and remember to remove the space from between the gigabyte and the .com to get a working link.

    Thanks for the feedback.

I looked at Gigabyte, and to me they seem very overclocker oriented, but I am more gamer oriented.

I think the Fatal1ty brand is good, since I have their sound card and headset and they are great. Also, the Fatal1ty X-79 Champion is a great looking broad.

I also like the Asus board, but the price is ouch!!

I looked on the forum about quality related issues with ASRock, Asus and Gigabyte, and they all seem to have the same number of issues and same types of issues - so I think the quality of each brand is really hard to determine.

It is a crap shoot as to whether the board you buy was made right, or has an production fluctuation. I am looking at price vs. features and not which brand it is.
